On Sunday, April 22, before an enormous and deeply moved congregation, Bishop Leniban of Auckland solemuly blessed the new transept just added to the Cathedral. The ceremony which was most impressive was conducted by the Bishop. The assistant priest was Monsignor O'Reilly (Thames), the deacons of the throne were the Rev. Fathers Gillan and Hacket, the deacous of the mass the Rev. Father Mahony and Brodle, and the master of the ceremonies the Rev. Father Holbrook.
