Dear Pee, March 29tli. During the tyeek several games in Miss Imlay’s croquet- tournamejit have been played, and a great deal of interest lias been taken in the various matches; the beautiful lawn .being- in excellent order. Amongst the players wore Mesdames Colin Campbell, Sarjeant. Blundell, James Watt, Christie, Fairburn, Imlay, Saunders. Dodgshun, Misses Moore, O. Stanford, G. Stanford; Messrs. Dalgety. Campbell, Imlay, Saunders, Jas. Anderson, W. Anderson, Janies Watt, Harold Goodwin, Izard, Sarjeant, Harper and Dr. Lyons. Last Saturday there were quite a large number of players and onlookers at the Campbell-street tennis-courts. Afternoon, tea S'HA by Mrs. Wall. Some of j'lp&e on the lawn were Mis. Gonville Saunders, Mr. and Mrs. Hutton, Miss O’BHen, Miss Burke (Napier), Mr. and Mrs. Bai nieout> Mrs. Glenn, Alias Byiruicqat, Dr. Wall, Misses Darky, Newton, Cavin' Christie, Mclntosh, Baker, Richmond, Messrs. Ilardwieke, Allan. Harold. .Anderson, R. Stevenson, Biss and others.
On Friday evening Mrs. Gifford Marshall and the Misses Stanford gave AN ENJOYABLE RIVER PICNIC In the oil launch/’ Last week Mrs. Gon-ville-.Saunders also gave a small, lunch party- in honour of Miss Burke, .of. Napier, who is staying with her. Saturday proved an ideal day for the Wanganui Girls’. College swimming sports. All the events were keenly contested, and there were a large number of interested spectators. The prizes were presented by Mrs. Ballance, of England, who is staying iu Wanganui.
