The visit of the Besses o’ th’ Barn Band to our town on Friday last evoked a great deal of pleasurable excitement, and despite the adverse climatic conditions prevailing. a large number of citizens assembled at the railway station to welcome them. After the band gave two concerts in the Theatre Royal, a final one was given on the racecourse, the Garrison Band escorting them to the grounds. Amongst, those there I noticed Mrs. Alexander, fawn eoat and skirt, black and white hat. relieved with scarlet roses; Miss Avery, sage green voile, with cream silk vest and lace revers, pale mauve hat; Mrs, Armstrong, black and white costume; Mrs. C.
