AUCKLAND.

Hear Bee, March 26. The members of the Auckland. Devonport, Remuera, Parnell, Onehunga, and Ponsonby Croquet Clubs were right royally entertained at an AT HOME given by the members of the Mt. Eden Club last Tuesday on their pretty lawns. Afternoon tea was served in the pavilion, which was very prettily deeorated for the occasion with greenery and Island mats. The flowers chosen for the table decorations were dark blue and pale blue delphiniums, to represent the club colours, and a most delicious tea was provided by the committee. The prizes for the progressive tournament were won by Mrs. Alexander and Mrs. Oldham (Auckland) in the first class, and they were presented with a eut glass and silver puff-box and a crystal and silver specimen vase. Similar trophies were won by Miss Herrold and Miss Caro, the fortunate winners of the greatest number of games amongst the second class players. Some pretty' gowns were worn, and amongst others I noticed: .Mrs. Morton, wearing a dainty white embrordmed lawn gown, with pretty hydrangea blue, hat; Mrs. Walker, blue and white floral muslin, finished with lace, small white and blue toque; Mrs. E. U. Beale was effectively gowned in white, with touches of black, becoming black picture hat; Mrs. Mogenie, pretty white muslin, finished with embroidery and insertion, pale blue eeinture, hat trimmed with pale blue; Mrs. Heather, handsome Mack chiffon voile over violet glace foundation, black hat with feathers; Mrs. Brown, cream Sicilian skirt and pretty white silk blouse, Tuscan and green hat:. Mrs. Nicol was charmingly gowned in black and white spotted mousseline. inserted with black laee, black hat ; Mrs. Paton was gowned in blue and white, blue a.nd white hat.; Miss White, black skirt, white blouse, black hat. with white motor veil; Mrs. Fra ter. black voile, black hat with cluster of red chrysanthemums at oue side; Mrs. Alexander wore a becoming gown of white and black spotted muslin, with pretty blue hat ; Miss Moir, bolland skirt and dainty white inserted muslin blouse, Leghorn hat, swathed with green tulle; Mrs. John Dawson, biscuit-coloured cloth Eton costume, faced with pale green, white and green hat: .Mrs. Kids "’wore white with touches of heliotrope, white hat, with heliotrope floral trimmings; Miss Kelly wore white cambric, and Tuscan hat : Mrs. Oliphant, handsome shot skirt with white lilmtse, pretty floral hat; Misses Kerr Taylor wore pretty pale pink muslin gowns and pink hats to match; Mrs. Arthur Rees (Gisborne) was gowned in a Havannah brown voile with cream laee yoke, green and white hat; Mrs. Harty, white linen costume with black eeinture, white hat; Mrs. Reeves was daintily gowned in white muslin, with black eeinture, black and cream hat; Mts. Olhain, black skirt with pretty white blouse, black hat: Miss Caro, cream Cloth skirt and white silk blouse, with pale blue eeinture, white and pale blue hat; Mrs. Briffault wore a Tussore silk gown, handsomely finished with Teneriffe embroidery, Tuscan and white hat: Mrs. 11. C. Fenton wore a smart navy blue costume with deep cream lace yoke, chic little green hat; Mrs. Noakes, black skirt and soft white silk blouse, smart red hat; Miss Elliott, very prett ly pale grey costume, richly trimmed with cream lace, hat en suite; Miss Vdy. dainty heliotrope muslin, with Valenciennes laee yoke, blaek picture hat; Mrs. Mair, blue and white striped cambric, with pretty burnt straw hat; Mrs. J. L. 11. Bloomfield, white lawn costume, with embroidered blouse, crimson belt, pretty black hat; Mrs. Brown, blaek skirt' and dainty white blouse, blaek and -white hat ; Mrs. Smith, blue and white cambric, with Tuscan hat; Mrs. Jack Reed, black skirt and pretty pale grey blouse, grey chiffon hat; Mrs. Bob Walker, biscuit-coloured cloth skirt awl white blouse, Tuscan hat with white motor veil; Miss D. Thompson, navy blue cloth skirt and white blouse, blue and white bat.

FAREWELL AT HUME. To wish bon voyage to Dr. and Mr A. Osborne Knight, who will be shortly leaving for London. an c\<-eediugli pleasant “At Home” was given at “Severn House,” Ponsonby, on tnursday afternoon. The invitations were issued principally to old friends of the host and hostess, who were Invited in order to give them an opportunity of bi riding farewed*. During the afternoon musical selections were contributed by Mrs -J. U. Mitchell. Mrs J. Stewart, the Misses Muriel and Dorothy Knight. A dainty tea was handed round, and the time passed so quickly that everybody was surprised when the hour of farewell had arrived. Mrs Knight received in a pretty pearl grey silk, with white lace applique; .Miss Knight wore a white silk blouse, inset with Anglaisc broderie, and black brocade skirt; Miss Muriel Knight was in a charming' white silk with blue eeintnre; Miss Dorothy Knight wore a cream and pink lloral chiffon voile, with pink corselet belt; Miss Kirk was in whitr embroidered silk.
