Tlie new town clock at Palmerston is called after Kerei Te Parian, chief of the Rangitane. and the natives, to show their appreciation, presented Mrs. Wood with a number of valuable mats, etc. Mrs. Wood an 1 Kerei's wife are seated. Standing are Mr. Wood and Kerei Te Panau.
