Dear Bee, September 12. A VERY SUCCESSFUL DEBUT was made by the Misses Wells, of Christchurch, at a concert in the Choral Hall on Thursday’ evening. These ladies hanjust returned from Leipsic, where they spent some years studying music. The violin playing of Miss Wells was delightful, and Miss Alma Wells’ pianoforte playing met with the same appreciation. The Christchurch musical world will greatly gain by the return of these accomplished young musicians. Mrs. Gower Burns and Mr. Hamill assisted in the programme. The hall was quite filled, and amongst others present were Mrs. and the Misses Julius. Mrs. and the Misses Denniston. Mrs. and Miss Mere-dith-Kaye, sh’. and Mrs. Manning.
