Ready for quiet now In God’s Own Country that he loved the best, In mourning state now moves he to hid rest: Like a dead viking chief*s his home coming! Dead in his stalwart prime. Crowned with the laurel uf a life work done. Death chooses his own time. But the wuru war-horse stirs to the last call. And he falls fighting, as he wished to fall: At his high zenith the high prize is won. Secure in his renown. From petty carpings Death gives him reprieve; Let the fierce waves die down; cum him up broadly: he was human, whole. Harm was his heart and big his valiant soul. To smaller men his littlenesses leave, hy Death deposed. Ue ami< ? a nation’s sorrowing. The unfinished book is closed.
