Dear Bee, June 9. The return match between the Manawatu and Wanganui Golf Clubs took place on the BALGOWNIE LINKS on June 4th. The match resulted in Wanganui winning ten games, Manawatu one, and one was drawn. The members of the Ladies’ Golf Club provided a delicious afternoon tea. Amongst those on the links were: Mcsdames Barnieoat, Sarjcant, Innes. G. Marshall. Good, C. Russel), Mac Kay, Misses O’Brien, Stanford (2). Gresson, Liffiton. Brabant, Hardcastle, Barnieoat, Phillips (Canterbury), Krull, Christie, Messrs. Barnieoat, Good, Gordon, Silk, Liffiton, and many others. Last week Mrs. Gordon gave a very enjoyable BRIDGE PARTY in honour of Miss Gresson. of Christchurch, who has been staying with her. There were seven tables. The prizes Jell to Misses Dodgshim, L. Barnard-Brown,

and Mr. Hatherly. Amongst those pre sent were: Mr. and Mrs. Gordon, Misses Gresson (2), McNeill, Dodgshun, L. Barnard-Brown.. Jones, Berry (Greymouth), Stanford, Brewer, Pratt. Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Norris. Messrs. Money, Stevenson, Enderby, Gibbons. Hatherly, Midhurst, Drs. Wilson and Hatherly. On Friday evening Miss Brewer gave an • ODDS AND ENDS” EUCHRE PARTY in honour of Miss Dodgshun, who received a great number of pretty and useful presents for her new home. The ladies’ prizes, won by Misses Stanford and Cutfield, were a silver photo frame and a quaint china loving cup. Mr. Willis won the men’s prize, a book, and the boobies fell to Mrs. Blundell and Mr Enderby. Amongst those present were: Miss Brewer, Mrs. and Miss Dodgshun, Mrs. and Miss Blundell. Mrs. Jones, Misses McNeil, Owen, Stanford (2), Cutfield, N. Brewer, Hope Gibbons, Cowper (2), Mrs. Peake, Mrs Hope Gibbons, Messrs. Stevenson, Blundell, Enderby, Willis, Chamberlain.
