Dear Bee, March 1 * Last Saturday was gloriously tine for the tennis match between the Ilawera and Eltham Clubs. The Eltham team arrived in Ilawera early in the afternoon, accompanied by a large number of supporters, so that THE TENNIS GROUNDS wen- very gay. Some splendid play was witnessed. and eventually Ilawera ■won by three games, the local ladies proving themselves much stronger than their opponents. Those playing for Eltham were: Mrs. Robison, Mrs. Wake, Misses Blennerhassett, and S. ('.uncross, Messrs. Crump. Haydon. Robison, Poynter, Pitcher, and McGuire. The Ilawera team consisted of: Misses Baird (2), Koch. Caplen, Messrs. Caplen (2), Glenn, Dingle. C. Parkinson, and Meek. A most delicious afternoon tea was given by the chib, and Mesdames Gillies, Meek, and Nalder were untiring in their efforts to entertain the vi-itors. Amongst those present 1 noticed: Mrs. Syme (Eltham). wearing a heliotrope* floral muslin dress daintily trimmed, floral bat of violets to match: Mrs. Robison (Eltham). white embroidered linen blouse, navy blue skirt, sailor bat; Mrs. Wake. pink muslin blouse, dark skirt, white hat; Miss Blennerhassett (Eltham), white blouse, giey tweed skirt, sailor hat; Mrs. Gillies, dainty frock of heliolinpe muslin. >watbed belt of silk of conespoiiding shade, hat to match; Miss Dennison (Oamaru), becoming frock of embroidered lawn, up-river hat of white muslin: Mrs. Meek, blue and white frock of spotted cambric, white hat; Mrs. Nalder. smart gown of grey tweed, faced with white, cream hat; Airs. \\ estenra looked very smart in a grey Norfolk eoat ami skirt, black and white hat: Miss Worrall, frock of tussore, tucked and inserted with lace, black hat : Miss E. Bain, blue linen Eton coat and skirt faced with white, pretty floral

hat; Miss Day. cream serge coat ami pleated skirt, smart hat trimmed with piuk roses: Mrs. Basham, frock of white silk, frilled and trimmed with laee, white hat; Mrs Brett, black and white voile over white glace slip, black and white hat; Miss Brett, creme canvas coat and skirt, blue floral hat ; Mrs. Baird, tailormade gown of black and white serge, black hat: Miss Koch, white linen, black hat; Miss Alexander, blue linen, relieved with white, blue and white hat; Misses Bayley, Williams, Mrs. F.
