The torrent of new magazines goes on altering or removing the oh] landmarks. ‘•Longman’s” expires outright, as we mentioned a week or so ago. “Leisure Hour” eeases to appear as the monthly miscellany so long known and loved, and will assume the form of a monthly volume of fiction, or popular history, or biography, or natural science. “Macmillan's” henceforth lowers its priee from a shilling to sixpence. “Good Words” and “Sunday Magazine” have passed into the hands of Messrs. ITurmsworth, to await, presumably, transformations. These disappearances and transfers of old favourites suggest melancholy reflections. Is the general magazine-readers’ standard being raised or lowered? asks the “lieview ot Reviews.” —
