Dear Bee, October 12. On Tuesday night the Theatre Koya! was well filled, when the Napier Dramatic Students staged for the first time in New Zealand Mr Henry Esmond's charming little play entitled ‘ONE SUMMER’S DAY.” Mrs Edgar took the principal part, and acted up to her former reputation. In the first two acts she wore a dainty white embroidered linen and a pretty white picture hat with pale blue chiffon strings, whilst in the last act she wore a lovely white crepe de chine and lace frock. Mrs Undo Levien made her debut, and created a very good impression by her natural acting. She looked very charming in a cream serge dress strapped with blue, and a pretty white muslin hat with pale blue ribbons. In the third act she wore a striking apricot silk evening dress. Miss King undoubtedly scored the success of the evening in the picturesque role of a gipsy. Miss Hutchinson and Miss Windsor also tilled their parts well. Mr Macassey. as usual, acted well, and Air Hoadley scored a great success. Other smaller parts were filled by Mr Collins (as the schoolboy), Mr A. Cornford (who made a capital urchin), Air Renoun, Mr Levin, and Mr Smith.
