Orange Blossoms

CUFF—KAVANAGH. A quiet but very pretty wedding was celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, Parnell, on 27th September, when Miss Ida Kavanagh, daughter of the late Chas. Kavanagh, of Mauku, was married to Edwin Cole Cuff, son of Albert Cuff, of Auckland. The bride, who was given away by her brother, wore a particularly pretty white silk gown, daintily trimmed with chiffon, and a transparent laee yoke and a most beautiful Limerick lace veil. She carried a lovely white shower bouquet, and was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Kavanagh and Miss Cuff, who were gowned in pretty cream taffetas, trimmed with laee and ribbon, and smart green hats wreathed with pink and green flowers, lovely pink and white bouquets. Mr. Fred. Cuff was best man, and Mr Charles Kavanagh groomsman. The Rev. E. C. Budd officiated. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a gold chain and pendant, and to the bridesmaids silver-backed hairbrushes. The bride’s travelling dress was a navy tailor-made costume, with a becoming red hat. After the ceremony the guests went to Mrs Cuff’s to afternoon tea. Amongst those present were:—Mrs Cuff, gowned in a handsome black costume and a pretty floral toque; Mrs Kavanagh, in a lovely black silk voile costume, with a charming black and white toque; Mrs Rutherford,- in a dainty cream silk voile, and a becoming toque to match; Mrs Derry wore a cream coat and skirt and a crimson hat; Mrs Jones, in a green cloth costume, with hat to match: .Mrs Stringer, in a black dress, relieved with cream, and a pretty black picture hat ; Mrs H. P. Kavanagh, in a pretty brown satin gown, with a brown toque wreathed with .pink roses; Mrs G. Johnson wore a handsome black brocade, with a black and green toque; Mrs J. Walker, in black satin, and a black toque with clusters of mauve violets; Mrs Kerry, in a dark blue coat and skirt, pretty cream vest, and a becoming blue hat; Miss L. Cole wore a pretty blue costume, with a dainty floral toque; Miss K. Cole, in a cream tailor-made with a pretty mauve hat; Miss Kavanagh wore a pretty black costume with a black plumed hat; Miss Johnson, in * black skirt, cream silk blouse, and a •aost becoming hat wreathed with shaded roses.

WILSON—THOMSON. A very pretty wedding was quietly celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, New Plymouth on October 3rd, when -Mr. Frank Wilson, of the legal firm of Messrs. Roy and Wilson, was married to Miss Winifred Bell Thomson, fifth daughter of the late Inspector J. Bell Thomson. Rev. F. G. Evans ollieiated The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. Frank Thomson, of Inglewood, looked charming in a frock of eolienne voile, with transparent yoke, finished with fichu of ehilTon. edged with silk niotiffs. She wore a dainty silk embroidered veil over a coronet of orange blossoms, and carried an exquisite shower bouquet of white broom. The bride was attended by her two sisters (Misses Sybil and Mildred Thomson) as bridesmaids, in dainty white muslin frocks, trimmed with white satin ribbon and rosettes, finished with Empire sashes, white fancy straw hats, trimmed with heliotrope ribbon. They carried lovely shower bouquets of primroses. Messrs. C. Nicholson and A. Bewley acted as best man and groomsman. After the ceremony the relatives of the family were entertained at Mrs. Thomson’s residence, ‘’Fair View,” Te Henui. Mr. and Airs. Wilson left by the afternoon train for the South Island. where the honeymoon is to be spent. The bride’s travelling dress was ~a pale grey coat and skirt, white cloth stitehed facings, heliotrope hat trimmed with shaded ribbons, and violets. At the reception, Airs. Thomson (mother of the bride) wore a black merveilleux, trimmed with real lace; Airs. Harold Thomson (Inglewood), lovely violet cloth eoat and skirt, cream lace vest, shaded violet hat; Airs. Martin, cream voile, white feathered hat. dainty shower bouquet; Miss Thomson, pule pink tucked voile, trimmed with cream lace, white straw hat, pink shower bouquet; Airs. — Thomson, charming lavender grey costume, smart hat of purple velvet, bouquet cn suite; Aiiss Wilson. pale pink voile prettily trimmed with lace, pale blue hat. lovely whit? shower bouquet; Aiiss Af. Capel, white insertioned silk, black velvet hat. lovely shower bouquet of wall flowers; Mrs. Walter Bay, pale pink voile, hat and bouquet en suite; Miss Carrie Bayly, white tucked silk floral hat; Airs Bradbury, black and white costume, black hat; Mrs. Evans, white and heliotrope silk, toque to correspond. ‘ VAUTIER—RUSSELL. A wedding of very great interest took place at the Napier Cathedral on October 4th, when Aiiss Florence Russell was married to Air J. Vautier. The church was crowded with people all anxious t osee the bride, who looked charming in a dainty white silk frock and large black picture hat with chiffon strings. The bridesmaids were Miss Gertrude Fletcher and Miss Ada Vautier, who wore grey voile dresses and large picture hats. After the wedding a large .number of guests were entertained at the residence of the bride’s mother.
