AUCKLAND PROVINCE. Mrs. Wood of Napier, is visiting Mrs. McCosh Clark, of Remuera, Auckland. Mr W. J. Napier returned to Auckland from Wellington last week. Mrs. Going (Hamilton) is spending some days in Auckland. Colonel Roberts, of Tauranga, was in Rotorua last week. Miss Wright, of “Loloma.” Cambridge, has returned home after visiting friends in Auckland for the last two months. Mrs. Wells, of “Oaklcigh,” Cambridge, who has been on a visit to Auckland for the last two months, has returned home. Mrs. J. Mowbray (Auckland) is at present staying at “Salthurst,” Cambridge, for the benefit of her health. Miss Pettit is at present the guest of Mrs Coldieutt, of Grafton-road, Auckland.

Mr and Mrs J. McK. Geddes returned to Auckland from their trip South last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Biggs have moved into their pretty new residence overlooking the Hamilton Lake.

Mrs. Sewell, left Rotorua last week for her home at Opotiki, and was much improved in health after her long visit.

Mr. E. F. Pollock returned to Auckland n Sunday by the Mararoa, after a five months’ visit to Melbourne. Mrs. Chitty, (Brooklyn, Hamilton) has returned home after spending a week in Auckland.

Miss Gwynneth, “The Bungalow,’" Cambridge, has been visiting Miss E. Willis, of Auckland, for the last fortnight.

Mr. W. J. W. Philson, Auckland manager of the Colonial Sugar Company, wont to Fiji in the Frona on Saturday on business of the company.

Mr. J. H. C. Bond, who has been manager of the Union S.S. Co. at Gisborne for some time, arrived in Auckland by the Moana. He is on his way to Dunedin, to which place he has been promoted.

Mr. and Mrs. T. de V. Hunt arrived in Hamilton on Saturday last from the King Country. Their little son had his finger erushed in a chaff-cutter, and they brought him up for medical treatment.

Auckland, has severed bis connection with the firm after 17 years' employment, with the idea of starting in business on his own account.

Mr. E. Wilson, M.A., who is attached to the Hamilton West High School, arrived in London last month. He travelled overland from Genoa, and was at Oxford when the mail left.

Canon Jordan, vicar of the Anglican Church at Tauranga, who has been ordered by his medical adviser to taki? a complete rest for some time, arrived in Auckland last week bv the Terranora.

Mr and Mrs George (Wellington) have gone to Sydney for two or three weeks.

Miss Holdsworth is the guest of Mrs, P. S. McLean, Bluff Hill. Napier. Miss Gilbertson is the guest of Mrs. Kettle, Napier.

Miss Perry (Masterton) is staying with her sister. Mrs. Mackay (Napier). Miss Scott, of Gisborne, is staying in Wanganui with her sister. Mrs Innes. Miss Campion, of Rangitikei, is the guest of Mrs C. Bull, in Wanganui.

Professor and Mrs Von Zedlitz are back in Wellington after a visit to Christchurch.

The Hon. F. and Mrs Rowley (Wanganui). accompanied by their son. are spending a few weeks in Wellington.

Mrs Saxby (Napier), who has been making a round of visits in Wellington, has returned home.

Harper (Palmerston North) were in Wellington for the Synod, as was also the Rev. G. N. Woodward. Miss Fairrie Denniston (Dunedin) is in Wellington paying a round of visits. Miss Fimpson was successful in winning the championship after a tough match against Mrs C. Bidwill (VVairarapa), who was playing a very good game. The finals top the senior championship resulted in a win for Miss .Laura James, who defeated Miss Harcourt in the final. The bogey competition was won by Mrs W. Bidwill (Featherston), who also carried off the prize for driving. The approaching and putting competition was won by Mrs Tweed.

Dr. and Mrs Nisbet (Dunedin) were in Christchurch last week for a few days, and were the guests of Mr and Airs Heaton Rhodes, “Otahuna.” Mr and Mrs A. E. G. Rhodes have returned to Christchurch from Wellington. During their visit there they were the guests of His Excellency the Governor and Lady Pluuket.
