Dear Bee, April 7. We have had quite a gay week. Last Friday Mr and Mrs J. E. Foster gave A SMALL PROGRESSIVE EUCHRE PARTY, which was very enjoyable. Mrs Foster wore a dress of black silk with white lace collar; Miss Foster, pink silk with broad bands of ceru insertion and lace; Miss E. Foster, black silk, blue chiffon on bodiee and in hair; Miss N. Seymour was in yellow gauged crepe de chine, with red roses; Miss Bennett, white embroidered ehiffon frock, pink roses; Mies Willis was in yellow silk, trimmed with insertion; Miss M. Wallis, white tucked silk dross; Miss A. Bradley wore pink silk; Miss B. Bradley, blue silk with frills of blue chiffon; Miss C. Reynolds, cream satin, large pink rose and pink bow in hair; Miss W. Reynolds, dainty tucked white silk with insertion, pale blue flowers and sash; Miss R. Boylan, pale green mousseline de soie, embroidered with pink roses, green bow in hair; Miss M. Burke, creatn Oriental satin blouse, blaek satin skirt. Euchre was played until about half-past ten, and after that there were several musical items. The supper table was very prettily deeorated with miniature sunflowers and autumn leaves.

There were a number of players at both TENNIS COURTS on Saturday last. Mrs F. T. Morgan and Miss W. Barker gave afternoon tea at Whataupoko, and Mrs Kane and Mrs Barlow at Kaiti. Next Saturday will just about end the tennis season, for golf opens on that day, when a mixed foursomes matoh will be played. At the meeting of the LADIES’ GOLF CLUB on Tuesday, Miss U. Rutledge was elected captain, Mrs G. Eliott secretary, Mesdames Willoe-k, King and Misses Matheson, Sweet and Adams committee. The last matches of THE POLO TOURNAMENT were played today, and were very interesting. The first day Gisborne B team beat Gisborne C team, and Mangaheia B beat Waipiro. The second day Gisborne beat Mangaheia, ami Gisborne B beat Mangaheia B. And in the final Gisborne A. beat Gisborne 8., and won the cup presented by Mr A. B. William. Afternoon tea was provided on the different days by Misses Bradley, Mrs and the Misses Reynolds. A few of the ladies who attended the macthes were —Mrs W. Sherratt, who wore a white cloth costume and navy blue and white hat; Mrs John Clark, deep blue voile costume;

Williams, green joat and skirt and green hat; Miss W. Reynolds wore a blue dress and burnt »traw hat trimmed with pale blue; Miss JI. Williams was in white linen with a brown hat; Miss E. Mondeton. cream and red spotted frock, red belt and hat; M iss E. Williams, white dress, black and white hat; Miss Woodbine Johnstone. white silk blouse, black skirt and black hat; Miss M. Burke, pink linen dress, pink hat; Miss M. Wallis, white linen skirt, white silk blouse, blue and white hat; Miss Bennett, black coat and skirt. Ou Thursday evening Sirs Reynolds and Mrs W. Sherratt gave a most ■enjoyable little dance to the polo players in Mr Kennedy’s Hall. Mrs F. T. Morgan gave a very jolly GIRLS’ AFTERNOON TEA on Thursday. Amongst those present were Misses Nolan.
