HAWERA.

Dear Bee, OCTOBER 12. • Those who have been the guests at the , , 'CLUB EUCHRE PARTIES this season gave a return to the club last Thursday in the torn; of a, euchre party and dance, held in the Foresters’ Hall. Although there have been so many euehre parties this winter, all those present were as enthusiastic as -ever, and seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves. The promoters of the “return” must have worked very hard, indeed, to make it the success it was, as everything went off with such ajswiug. The bare walls of the hall were quite transformed with numerous tings draped about, and masses of greenery here ■and there gave a decidedly, pretty effect. The end of the room, cosily fitted up as . _a . drawing.-r00m,.. wasmuch appreciated by non-euohre players. A hew idea, in the way of selecting partners for euehre was made use of. and great fun it caused-, too. - The ladies all represented different characters, and they played with the partners who corresponded with the name on their card. For instance, Sir Henry Irving had for his partner Ellen Terry, Punch payed with Judy, Jack with Jill, and so on. Glenn (Ist, a silver pencil) and Mr Day (2nd, a Silver matchbox). After euchre, a dainty Supper was handed Tound, and then' we had dancing until about two o’clock.
