A NEW ZEALANDER IN ENGLAND. LONDON. July 12. Though his form in the All England championships at Wimbledon was very disappointing, Mr A. F. Wilding, of Trinity College, played a very fine game for Cambridge in the inter-University matches decided at Queen's Club. In rhe singles he was beaten in the lirst round by W. <’. Crawley, of Oxford, by 6—3, 6—4, but in
the .second and rounds took hie revenge on L. Irvine by 6—6—3, and on Mavrogordato hy 6—4, 6 -3. The issue lay) in the balance till Wilding had settled Mavrogordato, ami bis win gave Cambridge the victory by five matches tu four and 93r games to 9X In the doubles Wilding, in partnership with Palmer, of Sydney, beat Crawley and Irvine by 6 —3, 6—4 in the first round, Andrews and Mavrogordato in the second by B—6, 6—l, and Goldesborough and Warman Ln the third by 7—5, 6—l. Thanks te their efforts. Cambridge won again by five matches to four and 97 games to 85.
