Orange Blossoms.

McGarry—McGuire. A very pretty wedding was celebrated al at Okinawa on June 22 (writes our llawcru correspondent) when Miss G. McGuire, youngest daughter of Mr F. McGuire, ex-M.H.R.. was married to Mr A. McGarry, of El t ham. The ceremony was performed by the Very Rev. Father Poorer, of ilawera, and took place on the verandah of ‘•Mount Royal.” the residence of Mr McGuire. The bridegroom was attended by his brother. Mr ‘McGarry, of Auckland. The bride was charmingly gowned in ivory white duchesse satin, made in Empire style, the skirl prettily trimmed with dainty frills of satin and silk insertion. The bodice had a transparent yoke of silk insertion, trimmed with pearls and chiffon. A very handsome veil was worn, and was surmounted by a wreath of orange blossoms. The bride carried a shower bouquet composed of baronia, narcissus, and maidenhair fern. Iler bridesmaids, three in number. were daintily dressed in white silk, inserted with lace, and carried bouquets. They wore gold necklets with diamond and gold heart-shaped lockets, the gifts of the bridegroom. The two elder bridesmaids were da lighters of Mr AV. 11. McGarry. and nieces of the bride, whilst the younger one was the tiny daughter of Mr .1. A. Young, of Wanganui, and cousin of the bride. After the ceremony a delicious afternoon tea was served in a marquee on the lawn, and the presents, which were very handsome, were on view. On June 30th a quiet wedding was celebrated at St. Peter’s, Takapuna, by the Rev. F. W. Walker, when Air. St. George Ross Beresford, eldest son of LieutenantColonel G. W. Beresford, late Bengal Stall’ ( orps, was united in marriage with Miss Muriel Margaret E**daile. oldest daughter of Mr. W. C rowder Esdaile. of Taka puna. The church was very prettily decorated for the occasion with arum lilies, cabbage palms, tree ferns, wattle ami marguerites. The bride. who - was given away by her father, looked extremely sweet in a charming soft white silk skirt much shirred, and hodice inserted with chifl'on and lace. She also wore a hand-ome Limerick lace veil, with orayge blossoms, and carried a shower fruiquet. She was attended by her little sister Enid, who wore a dainty inserted soft silk fioek, a huge white hat, and curried i shepherd's crook. The bridegroom was supported by Mr. R. D. W. Esdaile,

Mrs. \V. Crowder Esdaile received her guests to “afternoon tea” in a pretty gnen confetti tweed costume, and wore a large black picture hat. Amongst the guests we noticed: Mrs. Skeet (New Plymouth), in a pretty green costume and pink hat; Airs. Armitage (Parnell), entire black gown: Mrs. Jackson, soft black corded silk, relieved with white chifl’on, bonnot to match: Airs. F. W. Walker, black, relieved with Maltese lace, large black hat; Miss Jordan, smart dark tai-lor-made. with black hat; Airs. Quick, black skirt and green blouse, black hat: Aiiss Louch, black, relieved with pink, black hat; Aiiss N. Jackson, blue costume, piped with white; Mrs. Kirk, brown costume. piped with brown velvet, black San Toy hat: Miss E. Jackson, black dress, with a blue hat: Aiiss Tui Jackson, pretty pink costume, black Gainsborough hat.; Aiiss Kirk, dark striped costume, black and led hat: Aiiss Houchen. brown costume. with pretty hat en suite; Aiiss Pickering, black striped tailor-made, black hat: Miss E. Pickering, blue costume. with red waistcoat, black hat; Aiiss 1. Kirk, dark confetti tweed costume, dark ami pale green hat; Aiiss Keith, white silk, white and mauve hat; Aiiss E. Kirk, blue costume and blue hat; Miss M. Kirk, green and blue costume, blue hat. In a short appropriate speech the Rev. F. W*. Walker proposed the health of the young couple, and wished them every happiness, for which Air. Beresford, in replying. briefly thanked him on behalf of his wife and himself. The presents were numerous and useful.

PALMER—BROWNE. The marriage of Mr C. E. Palmer, Auckland manager of the Australia Alliance Insurance Company and Norwich and London Association, and Miss Zealia Browne, youngest daughter of Air James Browne, was quietly solemnised on June 21, at the residence of the bride’s father. Ponsonby-road, Auckland. The Rev. R. F. Macnieol officiated. The bride .was given away by her father. She looked graceful and winsome in a beautifully-made dress of champagnetinted canvas voile made over white glace silk, the bodice handsomely trimmed and hand-stitched, and relieved with a touch of violet. She also wore a stylish hat to correspond, trimmed with violet silk velvet, and a long violet ostrich feather, and carried a beautiful shower bouquet. She was attended by her sister. Miss Maggie Browne, who was tastefully attired in a stylish creme serge dress, and pretty hat. The bridegroom’s gift to her was a lovely pearl star pendant and brooch to match. Mr J. Alexander was best man. After receiving the congratulations of their friends, Mr and Mrs Palmer departed via West ('oast, for a tour in the South. The bride’s travelling costume was a smart navy bine cloth and white felt hat wreathed with violets. Tlie high esteem in which the young couple are held was shown by the large and valuable collection of wedding presents received. MEREDITH—TAIT. On the 29th nit., at the Hastings Presbyterian Church. Hawke’s Bay. the marriage took place of Air H. 11. Alereditli, of Hastings. Hawke's Bay. and Miss Marjory Tait, also of Hastings. The bride was given away by her brother. ami wore a dress of rich cream silk, t'ne bodice trimmed with cream silk embroidery. She carried a bouquet of white roses and jonquils. and wore a gold guard chain, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridesmaids wore dresses of white muslin with bodices of white accordion-pleated silk, trimmed with .satin ribbons, and hats en suite. The bridesmaids were Aliss Patience Tait, (sister of the bride) and Miss Maggie Elliott. Mr AV. IL Beck acted as best man. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. AV. J. Connie. Tile guests Mere afterwards entertained, and the bride and bridegroom subsequently left for the South. The bride went away in a dress of grey and white ilaked tweed. trimmed with white cloth and steel buttons, grey fell hat with white accordion - pleated silk and white ospreys.
