WANGANUI.
Dear Bee, April 1. On Saturday afternoon Mrs Arthur Nixon gave A MOST DELIGHTFUL CHILDREN’S PARTY. Her picturesque residence at Sedgebrooke was an ideal place for the little ones, who thoroughly enjoyed their games, scrambles and rides on the donkey. Amongst those present were the Misses Nixon, Brookfield, Hole, Dodgehun, Blundell, Stevenson, Outfield, Jones (2), H. Nixons (3), Fairburn, Forde, Anderson, Heywood, Millward, Tredwell, Baddeley, Humphreys, Fox, Greenwood, Clissold, Masters Nixon, 'Whiteombe, Kissling, Jones, Millward, Bramley and others. Last week a party of Mr and Mrs IL Holes’ friends went up the Wanganui River and had afternoon tea with them. The oil launch left town about ten in the morning, returning at seven. The party landed at Kaiwhaike for lunch, arriving at Mrs Hole’s in time for .tea. Amongst those on board were Mr and. Mrs Cecil Wray, Mr and Mrs PattleIzett, Mr and Mrs Fairburn, Mr and Mrs J. Mason, Mr and Mrs A. Atkins, Misses McDonnell (2), Dodgshun, Aitken, Messrs Hardwick, Harold and Wood. Last week Mrs Basil Taylor gave A “BEE’’ AFTERNON TEA for Miss Jessie Griffiths, who is to be married this month. Every guest brought some useful present, sueh as dusters, tea towels, sweeping caps, etc. Amongst those present were Mesdames Taylor, John Stevenson and Brookfield, Misses Griffiths, Taylor (2), Young, Hardcastle, Brabant, Jones and many others. Next week, Lent being over, there are to be two dances—one on Tuesday, sth, a farewell to Mrs and the Misses McDonnell, who are leaving Wanganui this month and intend to reside in Wel-
lington; and on the Sth Mrs H. Nixon is giving a dance at her charming residence at Sedgebrooke, so we shall be quite gay. It seems rather early in the year for danees, but even now the nights are becoming quite eool. Miss Knight, of Dannevirke, who has been visiting friends iu Wanganui, has
returned to her home.
