Dear Bee, February 12. A ball, given by Mr. and Mrs. Kettle. In honour of their daughter’s wedding, took place at the Garrison Hall on the sth inst. Many guests were present, and the ball was a grea t success. Mrs. Kettle was handsomely dressed in black, draped with lace, and Miss Kettle looked well in blue, with innumerable chiffon flounces; Mrs. Audrey Kettle was in white silk, accordion-pleated; Lady Russell wore a lovely gown of black brocade, with jet embroidery; Miss Russell, white, the bodice draped with chiffon, and her sister was also prettily dressed in white silk; veiled with net, edged with rows of narrow ribbon; Mrs. Coleman, a grey dress trimmed with spangled net; Mrs. Bradley, stylish gown of white satin and lace; Mrs. P. S. McLean, becoming dress of red and black; Mrs. Wenley, black net over pale blue; Mrs. Russell Duncan was admired in cream; Mrs. Kinross White, becoming pale blue costume; Mrs. 0. H. McLean, black silk and jet; Miss Elsie McLean wore a soft white dress, which suited her to perfection; Miss Todd was also in white; Miss Twigg looked well in a smart gown of pink silk, the bodice and skirt much rucked, and trimmed with chiffon; Miss Violet Twigg, black dress, trimmed with pale blue; Miss Vera Wilson, very pretty pale blue costume; Miss Seale wore black net over black satin; her sisters were in dainty white dresses, trimmed with laee; Miss McTavish (Wellington) looked well in a becoming gown of white net over white silk; Miss Hovell, pretty

pale blue dress, with tea roses on the bodice; Miss Jardine (debutante) was much admired in white silk, with lilies of the valley on the bodice; Miss Coleman’s dress of pale blue was trimmed with laee; Miss Fannin, white silk, with much chiffon on the bodice; Miss Louie Hoadley, pretty blaek dress; Miss Kathleen Hoadley, cream muslin, trimmed with pink and blue rosettes, an a pink and blue sash; Mrs. T. H. Lowry wore grey brocade; Miss Nation looked well in pale blue silk; Miss Cottcriß, black satin, with net sleeves; Miss F. Williams, pink silk; Miss Martin's dainty costume of white silk and lace was most becoming; Miss Kennedy, handsome dress of black and blue striped silk; Miss Dulcie Kennedy, white silk, trimmed with white lace; Miss J.
