Dear Bee. October 29. Mrs Biss gave a very enjoyable afternoon "At Home.” on Tuesday at her residence, Molesworth-street. Though a very windy day, the garden was sheltered, and the guests could sit outside and hear the excellent music provided by the Austrian Band. In the drawing-room a pianola was a great attraction, and its performances were enjoyed. Mrs Tweed and Miss George presided over the tea table in the dining-room, and very delicious were the many dainties laid thereon. Mrs Biss wore a pretty gown of pale green voile with trimming of narrow satin ribbon, and soft laee at the neck and wrists; her mother, Mrs George, wore a black silk gown, and a black hat with tips and pink roses; Miss George, in a dainty white crepe de chine gown with herring-boning and tucked chiffon yoke, large white hat with plumes; Mrs Tweed wore white and black spotted muslin, and a black hat with plumes; Mrs O’Conner had a black gown and coat, and a pale pink bonnet with roses and leaves; Miss O'Conner, a white silk blouse and dark skirt, cream hat trimmed with flowers and black velvet ; Mrs Barron had a black coat and skirt, with cream revers and a black toque: Miss Barron, in a blue gown, and a black and cream toque; Mrs Burns, had a black

Cooper, dark blue talior-made suit, and large burnt straw hat trimmed with black; Mrs Marchbanks, dark red and blaek figured gown, and blaek chiffon hat; Mi-s Ross, grey voile skirt, and tucked satin coatee, black hat; Mrs Campbell, in pale blue voile, and a blue and white toque; Mrs Turnbull, blaek silk voile gown, and large blaek hat; Mrs H. .Johnston wore a soft black gown stripped with narrow satin ribbon, white feather stoles, and a white hat with pink roses; Mrs Chatfield, in a brown linen gown, and blaek toque; Mrs Loughnan, blue Eton gown, black hat; Miss Duncan. blue and white foulard silk, and pretty black hat; Miss O. Fitzgerald in white, and a straw hat with foliage and ribbon; Miss K. Rawson in pink. The members of the Wellington Club are giving a ball on Wednesday next, as a farewell to the Countess of Ranfurly. Lady Ward has issued invitations for a garden party on Monday next.
