ORANGE BLOSSOMS

GILBERT—RICHARDSON. A very pretty and interesting wedding took place in St. John’s Church, Westport, on October 14, when Air Albert Gilbert, third son of Air and Airs Gilbert, of Greymouth, was married to Miss Aladge Richardson, third daughter of Airs Richardson. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. Al. Dart. Airs Kelling, who was at the organ, played Afendelssohn’s “Wedding March” as the bridal party left the church. The church was prettily decorated- A large wedding bell, the work of Mrs Carne, was suspended over the happy couple. The bride, who was given away by Air F. F. Munro, looked graceful and pretty in a beautiful white silk gown, elaborately tucked and trimmed with ivory insertion, the train having many tiny frills. A soft tulle veil was worn over a spray of orange blossoms, and she carried a lovely shower bouquet, presented by Aliss V. Marris. She wore a diamond and sapphire crescent brooch, and bangle, and gold necklet, the gifts of the bridegroom. The bridesmaids, Misses Ettie and Alay Richardson, wore pretty gowns of white soft silks, trimmed with tucks and Paris guipure lace insertion, cream and blue lace straw hats trimmed with blue silk and pink roses. They carried bouquets of pink and pale blue flowers, and wore brooches set with turquoises and chains, presented to them by the bridegroom. Two tiny mites, the Misses Muriel Aloore (Nelson) and Florence Alunro, wore dainty little frocks of white muslin and insertion, large White hats, and carried crooks trimmed with blue and white flowers- They wore gold brooches, the gifts of the bridegroom. Air Bennett acted as best man. The bride’s present to the bridegroom was a silver-mounted walking-stick. The bride and bridegroom gave the best man a set of gold links with monogram. After the wedding Airs Richardson, assisted by her daughters, held an “At Home.” She received the gue-sts in a pretty blaek etstume and sequin net trimmings: Aliss Richardson wore a green flecked voile costume trimmings of green silk, cream lace, straw hat, with blue silk and pink roses; Aliss Eva Richardson, crushed strawberry costume, kilted skirt made with a yoke, and white medallion trimming, picture hat. The bride’s travelling gown was of navy blue flocked voile, with white vest, stylish hat trimmed with roses and autumn leaves. The happy couple left overland for Reefton en route for Christchurch and Dunedin, where they will spend part honeymoon prior to taking up their residence in Greymouth.
