£750,000 for a Little Girl.
One of the richest children in England to-day is a little maid of nine summers called Jane Port. who. by the eccentric will of an old man. lately came into the whole of his fortune, which it is estimated will amount to £750,000 by the time she has attained her twenty-first year. The little heiress lives with her mother and sister in quite a snail way at Richmond, and is as simple and Movable a child as you could wish to meet.
When asked w’hether she would like to live in a big house, with lots of servants and horses and carriages, and have beautiful dresses, and jewels when she grew up. Janey replied:
“Xo. 1 want to live in the country and grow lots of flowers and vegetables, so that I ean send them to hospitals.” Adding. “But I should like a bicycle!"
