Dear Bee, July 4What Auckland has been asking for ten days, New Plymouth has been asking for the past week, “Are you a Mason?” and Mr J. C. Williamson’s Company’s performance of the funniest of funniest farces, in the Theatre Royal, last Monday evening, will long be remembered. On Tuesday evening “Oh, What a Night!” was performed, and again drew a large audience. Last Thursday and Friday afternoon and evening A BAZAAR was held in the Theatre Royal in aid of the funds of the Victoria School -for Maori Girls. The first day the sum of ,£l4O was made. Great credit and praise is due to the Rev- F. A. Bennett for the untiring way in which he has worked. Beneath the dress circle were stalls nicely draped, and arranged with a variety of tempting things, and those who attended to the wants of the people were: Mesdames Dockrill, E. Al. Smith, R. Cock, Buttle, Woolley, Evans, Home, Kemp, W. Bennett, Ryan, Fleetwood, Paton, Spencer, Percy, Smith, Collins, Pridham, Edmunds, and Misses Testar, Stephenson, Smith, Kempton. Ryan, Fleetwood, Grant, Smith, Hopkinson, J. Fraser, Wilson (Naseby), Morshead. The stage, where the afternoon tea was held, was converted into a miniature native village, and was beautifully done. The Rev. F. A. Bennett was responsible for this piece of work, and his assistants were a number of Wanganui natives, who came purposely to help and make the bazaar a success. In the evening a musical programme was arranged, consisting mostly of Maori Items, which were enthusiastically received. The items were: —Tableau,

Fookes. Mrs Murray, Miss Drew, blue frieze costume, white and black hat; Mrs Hoby, scarlet and black costume; Mrs Sladden, dark blue zibeline, white felt hat trimmed with black; Mrs F. A. Bennett, black costume, grey jacket; Miss O. Stanford, black coat and skirt; Miss G. Stanford, black, with fawn jacket; Mrs Rawson, black, black and white hat; Mrs Pascoe, looked well in black, handsome velvet jacket, toque en suite; Mrs Newman, Misses Hempton (2), Mrs W.
