YALC A. V. THISTLE. The match Y.M.C.A. v. Thistle was played at the Domain on Sani’day, and the Y.M.C.A. proved again uucoi;que ? sb;e, by scoring 5 goals to the Scottish team's one. E. Sale was the most diligent and notiaeably valuable of the winners’ forwards, and in attack he was always la the forefront. Cowan, ax full back, and Dcgmore, In goal, played spleudfd games, the latter's defence being particularly strong. Among the losers. McDougall and Me.drum were the best of a good lot of forwards. Ritchie, at full back, was particuarly serviceable. as goal defender, Edmonds made the best of a bad job. Mr Nyberg was the referee.
NORTH SHORE V. TABERNACLE
Played on the Devonport ground, the North Shore-Tabernacle match was full cf interest, the Shore winning by two goals to one. Both teams played well in the first half, G. Dacre scoring splendidly both the winners' goals in that line. In the second half, though the Tabernacle men played wildly, the Shore defence weakened enough to allow Webster to score the solitary goal just before time. The winners were best represented by G. Dacre. wao led the forwards to every attack, and made np for the weakness of the backs’ kicking. Bailey’s defence of the goal was methodical and reliable, and J« Baddie, Burgess, and Coates showed up best in the backs. Tabernacle's defence was mainly made up ay Webster, Bigelow, and Clarke, Biackie and Guy well in the middle divisions, and Brewer similarly in goal Mr W. G. Alien refereed.
