Dear Bee, — January 10. A large crowd of people assembled at the Recreation Ground on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday, to witness the match between Lord Hawke’s cricket team and the Hawke’s Bay eleven. Amongst them wvere: Mrs Harold Russell, in a soft tussore silk costume, and a black toque; Miss Russell, fresh white pique dress, with a blue sash and a black hat trimmed with ribbons and plumes; Miss Marjorie Russell also wore a white dress, a pink sash and a black hat; Mrs Nantes was charmingly dressed in White, with squares of black velvet ribbon edged with lace, and a black hat; Mrs R. B. Smith had a deep cream silk dress and a becoming hat; Mrs Warren wore grey, trimmed with flowered brocade and guipure lace; Mrs Russell Duncan was in a tussore silk dress, with red Hebe ribbon on the bodice, and a red hat; Miss Twigg looked well in white silk, with transparent lace sleeves, toque trimmed with pink roses; Miss Violet Twigg also wore white; Miss Clampitt had a dainty white blouse, a black skirt, and a hat trimmed with pink; Mrs Coleman wore grey, with revers of pink and white brocade, and a black and white bonnet;’ Miss Coleman was in pink and white flowered muslin, Leghorn hat trimmed with roses and chiffon; Miss Hovell wore a pink blouse, a black skirt, and a black hat; Miss F. W T illiams had a white silk blouse trimmed with guipure lace, black skirt, becoming picture hat; Miss Wilson wore black and white; Miss Vera Wilson, white blouse, black skirt, hat trimmed with blue; Mrs A. Kennedy, dainty pink dress, hat to match; Mrs Perry had a pink dress with a long train, the skirt edged with flounces, black hat trimmed with lace; Miss Abbott (Wanganui) had a very stylish white silk costume with lace insertion, a soft silk sash and a black hat; Mrs W. Anderson wore fawn, and a becoming black hat; Miss Hoadley, white drill costtime, sailor hat; Miss Louie Hoadley, dainty flowered muslin dress,

large picture hat with plumes; Miss M- Locking, white dress, blue hat; Mrs C. Cornford, tussore silk drc.-.a, trimmed with gui-piirv lace, white hat trimmed with chiffon; Miss Williams. blue cloth coat and skirt, sailer hat; Miss Kitty Williams, pink □nd cream spotted muslin; Mrs Fulton, white dress, with embroidery on the dkirt, toque' to match; Miss Emily Spencer, gobelin blue eoat and skirt, becoming hat; Miss lolanthe Margoliouth, white dress, relieved with pale green, black chip hat; Mrs Cato, pale green coat and skirt, with satin revers, cream hat; Mrs C. Cato looked well in a white blouse, a black skirt, and a black picture hat; Mra Morris had a well fitting black dress with a bolero of guipure lace, and a

pretty hat of pale blue chiffon; Mrs

Kettle wore a bright blue dress, and a black hat; Miss Kettle, pink muslin, sailor hat;-’ Mrs McKay, stylish Holland costume, white straw hat with pink ribbon; Miss Hamlin looked well in cream silk with guipure lace insertion and a sailor hat; Mrs Gore, blue drill, sailor hat; Miss Ethel Burke had a white silk dress; Miss Ella Burke was in cream, and she wore a most becoming picture hat of pink chiffon; Miss McLernon v. as in white and pale blue, black velvet hat with feathers; Miss Fannin wore navy, relieved with white lace, white hat to match; Miss Todd had a most becoming blue dress; Miss Crerar wore flowered muslin and a pink toque; Mrs Kinross White looked well in blue silk, and her becoming hat was of black velvet with feathers.
