Personal Paragraphs.

Miss Sime ox has been staying with Mrs. R. D. D. McLean, of Napier. Mrs. and Miss Lockie, Wellington, are at present on a visit to Rotorua. Miss Unex, of Napier, has left there for England. Mr. and Mrs. J. Gay, of Wellington, are on a visit to Rotorua. Colonel Porter has returned from Wellington to his home in Gisborne. Mrs. C- McLean has been staying in the country, and will return to Napier shortly. Mr. and Mrs. W. JoEffe, of Wellington. have been staying in Napier on their way to Rotorua. Dr. Mason, of Wellington, has been spending a few days in Napier en route for Tarawera and Cambridge. Mr Elder, Waikanae, and Mr Godfrey, Waipukurau, have been on visits to Wellington. Miss Webb-Bowen has returned to Nelson after a sojourn in Wellington, where she has been staying with Mr and Mrs Haselden. Dr. and Mrs Findlay are back in "Wellington after a flying trip to Dunedin, where they went immediately on their return to the colony. Mrs Grace, who has been on a visit to the South Island, has returned to "Wellington with her daughter, Miss Pearl Grace, who has been •wintering in Otago.

Mr. L. Simpson has resigned his position as teller in the Dannevirke branch of the Bank of New Zealand, and intends leaving for South Africa early in the new year. Mr. and Mrs. John McVay and -their niece, Miss Ella McVay, of Napier, have had a delightful trip overland from Napier and through the Hot Bakes District to Auckland. Mr, McVay left by the Te An an on Saturday.

Mrs and Miss Abbot (Wellington), who went to Christchurch for the carnival week, have returned home in order to meet Mrs Abbot’s daughter, Miss Daniel, who has been on a six months’ trip to England. Mr Aloysius MacDonald, manager of the Wellington branch of the Bank of New South Wales, has gone to Australia for a month’s holiday. Mr McKay is taking Mr MacDonald's place pro tern. Mr George Stephenson, the wellknown Dunedin footballer, returned to the colony last week, after a two years’ trip to England. Mr Stephenson eamq across from Sydney in the MqueWai, and proceeded to Dunedin, kfter a short stay in Wellington. The Very Rev. Dean Grogan, who has had a most enjoyable visit to England and America, is on his way home to Napier from Philadelphia. Great preparations are being made by the Catholic community to give him a fitting welcome at the Gaiety Theatre, consisting of a conversazione, presentations, etc.

Among the visitors at the Wellington branch of the Tourist Agency have been: Mr Norman Heigham, Leeds, England; Mr and Mrs Douglas Pearson, Glasgow; Mr Keith Yates, London; Messrs. T. H. 'Fitzgerald, of Wellington, has just been presented with a handsome chased silver cigarette case, and cigar and cigarette holders in amber, the gift of the members of the Pharmaceutical Association of New Zealand. Mr Elson and Mr Robert Wood made eulogistic speeches

on behalf of the Association, and wished Mr Fitzgerald every success in his future career. In replying Mr Fitzgerald referred to the need of a society for the mutual protection of chemists and druggists, and gave a donation as nucleus to a fund for that purpose.
