The illustration which we give on this page depicts the start of the adventurous automobilists who last month set ont from Hyde Park Corner on the attempt to go round the world on a motor car. Dr. E. E. Lehwess is the head of the expedition, and he is accompanied by Mr Max Lucie 11. Mr H. Morgan-Browne, an r.nglish barrister and journalist, and one or two others. After crossing the English Channel, the travellers proceed to Paris and from there to Brussels, Berlin. Warsaw, St. Petersburg, Moscow. Omsk, Irkutsk, and then hope to reach either Pekin or Vladivostock. From the Pacific Coast they will proceed to Japan and then to San Francisco. Mexico. Chicago, and New York. The final stage will be from Liverpool to London. The car cost about £3OOO. and weighs about three tons when fully loaded.
