Saved Him.
“I remember,” said a boy to his uncle, ‘.‘you told me always to stop and count one hundred when angry. That saved me getting a good thrashing the other day.” “ I’m glad to hear it. It cooled your anger, didn’t it?” ‘‘Well, you see, a boy came into our street and made faces at me, and dared me to fight. 1 was going for him. He was bigger’n me, and I’d have got licked. I remembered what you said, and began to count.” “And you didn’t fight?” “No, uncle. Just as I got to fortytwo my big chum came along, and the way he thrashed that boy would have made your mouth water. I was going to count fifty and then run.”
