AUSTRALIANS IN ENGLAND. MATCH AT CARDIFF. The Australians made a poor start. When they had four wickets down for 30 runs excitement was raised to a high pitch, Duff, Gregory and Noble being disposed of without any addition to the score. The innings closed for 148 runs. Hopkins, the not out man, had 45 to his credit when the stumps were drawn. The combined counties team, in their second innings against the Australians, scored 178 runs, leaving the Australians 152 runs to make in their second innings to win the match. The Australians won the match by 6 wickets. Gregory, 44; Trumble, 31.
