ORANGE BLOSSOMS

HAMILTON—DOUGLAS. An exceedingly pretty wedding took place at the Presbyterian Church, Nelson, on Wednesday, June 4th, when Miss May Douglas, eldest daughter of Dr. T. Douglas, of Capetown, was married to Mr Frank IV. Hamilton, managing director of the firm of E. Buxton and Co., Ltd., Nelson, eldest son of the late Mr Francis Hamilton. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. H. MacKenzie. Miss 11. Reeves presided at the organ, and the church was very prettily decorated. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charmingly pretty in a very handsome gown of rich white merveiilcux with satin strappings and rosettes of liebe ribbon on the trimmed skirt, the bodice was draped with exquisite Honiton laee, and the transparent sleeves and yoke were of tueked chiffon. She also wore a wreath of orange blossoms and veil, and carried a shower bouquet of white flowers. The bridesmaids, the Misses Daisy and Violet Douglas (sisters of the bride) and Miss Jean Hamilton (sister of the bridegroom), wore very pretty gowns of cream silk bengaline, the -skirts and bodices were much tucked and edged with feather stitching and finished with deep sashes of cream chiffon and rosettes of turquoise blue silk, tucked cream chiffon bats,

brightened with a little blue silk, anti each carried a bouquetofgold and red chrysanthemums, tied with turquoise blue ribbons, and wore a gold curb bangle, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride, was also a gold curb bangle, and of the bride to the bridegroom a diamond and ruby pin. Mr Archibald Adams acted as best mau, and two of the bridegroom’s younger brothers were the groomsmen. After the ceremony a reception was held by Dr. and Mrs Dougias at VVainui House, where the lovely presents were much admired. Mrs Douglas wore an exceedingly handsome gown of light grey silk, trimmed with cream laee insertion, a full vest of soft pink silk, veiled with grey chiffon, and a lovely grey hat to match; Mrs Hamilton wore rich black silk with chiffon trimmings, olack chiffon hat with ostrich tips; Miss M. Hamilton, grey costume, brightened with red velvet, grey felt hat, trimmed with red; Mrs Fred Hamilton wore a costume of dark brown cloth, red velvet toque; her little daughter wore red with Dutch bonnet to match; Mr Fred Hamilton; Mr and Mrs A. P. Burnes, the latter wearing n very pretty gown of heliotrope flowered silk, black hat with pink roses; Mr and Mrs Allan (Bank of N.Z.), the latter wearing dark blue with smart hat en suite; the Rev. J. and Mrs MacKenzie, Miss MacKenzie; Mrs Lyall, black silk, bonnet to match; Mrs W. Adams (Blenheim), Mr and Mrs Rhine. Mr and Mrs Murray; Major and Mrs Wolfe, the latter wearing black, toque to mat'd! with trimmings of cream laee; Miss Preshaw, violet cloth costume, velvet toque to match; Miss M. Preshaw, bright pink silk blouse, blaek skirt, hat en suite: Miss Gribben. crushed strawberry costume, blaek hat; Miss Stewart-Forbes, fawn cloth coat and skirt, black velvet hat: Miss Stevens, blaek costume and long coat, black hat with tips; Misses Edwards (3), M. Bunny. L. Gibbs, Stewart; Miss Levien looked well in grey cloth costume, red hat; Miss Cohen, black, bonnet brightened with red; Messrs Hamilton (5), Squires, Duncan, Levien (2), Grace, Hursthouse, Masters Douglas (2) and Allen, and others. The bride's goingaway dress was of fawn doth with a‘ smart toque to match.
