THE AUSTRALIAN BUSHMAN AT HOME.

There has been much talk of the Australian bushman during recent years, of his capacity for enduring hardships, which has been amply exemplified during the present South African war. But for all the talk and comments passed upon him the home life’ of the bushman is little understood by the denizens of cities and towns. He is reared in hardship until this state becomes a part of his being. But it tells on him in time, for rough living and exposure are by no means conductive to good health, and nature has good cause to rebel at the severe tax put upon her faculties. Liver trouble is often the result, with the numerous aches and pains peculiar to that complaint. A true type of the bushman is Mr H. Kilpatrick, who as prospector, miner, drover, and bushman generally, has a wide and varied experience. This gentleman is forty-nine years of age, at present employed as groom at the Southern Cross Hotel, Broken Hill, and he has written his interesting experiences to the proprietors of Bile Beans for Biliousness, to which medicine he is greatly indebted for his present state of good health. He says:—“About twelve months ago I was mining in the back country and forced to endure all manners of hardship, principally in the matter of diet. I can assure you our provisions were of the roughest. After several months of this life I began to experience severe pains in the back and side accompanied by a dizzy, heavy feeling, which I put down as originating from the liver. I also suffered greatly from Bilioua attacks, which would leave me weak and ill, suffering from severe Headaches, Indigestion, and pains all over the body. One of my mates happened to have Bile Beans in the camp, and he gave me a few, which I took. After the third dose I felt a decided improvement, and continuing with them for a fortnight I was completely cured. Bile Beans are great friends and constant companions of the back country denizens, who have found their great worth in combatting the ill effects of rough living, and I am now one of the many who never lose a chance of recommending your wonderful preparation.” This is one of the many instances where Bile Beans have proved themselves friends t® the hard living bushman.
