NEW PLYMOUTH.

Dear Bee. December 20. A RECEPTION was held on the Bowling Green on December 12th, to welcome Mr Paul, who has been on a visit to the Old Country. The green was jtn-ttily decorated. Over the pavilion were placed the words “Welcome Home,” and on the far side of the green appeared the words “You Have Done Well.” Mr Tisch, the vice-president, welcomed Mr Paul home; also Mr Samuel made a few remarks. Mr Paul, in reply, expressed his keen appreciation of the welcome they had given him. The Town Band was in attendance, and when Mr and Miss Paul appeared it struck up “For He's a Jolly Good Fellow.” Afternoon tea was pi-ovided by Mesdames Innes, Jaekson. Tisch and Misses Jackson (2). Amongst those present were Mrs Sykes, black costume, with pretty toque to match: Mrs Hadfield, black costume, red front: Mrs Blythe, holland eostume; Mrs Cock; Mrs Horne, biaek and white; Mrs Biggs, black skirt, violet blouse; Mrs Langford, beautiful black silk, picture hat trimmed with violet: Mrs Marks, green eostume: Mrs Osborne, fawn blouse, black skirt; Mrs Morey, blue eostume; Mrs Freeth, biaek silk; Mrs A. Goldwater, handsome black poplin trimmed with jet. toque en suite: Mrs Middleton. black: Mrs Beane looked charming in white; Mrs H. Goldwater, blue blouse, biaek skirt: Mrs Mills, pretty Holland costume; Mrs Shotlauder, white pique eostume: Mrs Collins, biaek skirt, cream blouse; Mrs Ellis, biaek eostume; Mrs Messenger, black, biaek toque; Mrs Avery, red silk trimmed with black net: Mrs Mitchell, white silk. Wacktoque; Mrs Kelly, black; Mrs Fookes, black skirt, light blouse: Miss Paul looked exceedingly pretty in a grey costume. large picture hat trimmed with pink; Mrs Lawson, black; Miss Batton, white; Miss I.
