Marilier's capable anil appreciative study of Lord Kelvin, the great scientist: of M. de Never s treatment of the momentous question of who is to succeed Leo. XIII. on the Papal throne: of Mr. Charles Lowe's pap< r on the German Emperor and his family. There tire few people who cannot confess to finding certain fascination in the subject of the “Great Sea Serpent." and in Mr. Dunn's article that elusive marine monster's credible appearances to humanity from time to time are exhaustively chronicled and illustrated by lively sketches. Sportsmen will find “Caper Caillie Shooting’ in the Alps specially written to their address, while the general public gets its ideas concerning Baron Ta ichni z an 1 his value to the literary "arrived ’ considerably clarified by an article on “'Die Tauchnitz Edition." There is not much fiction in this number, but it is interesting to find among it a short story by the sister of Forbes Robertson. the famous actor. In "Ex Dibris" Mr. Henley deals not too tenderly with the pre-Raphaelite brethren. whose head ami chief representative was Dante Itosetti.
