Dear Bee, June 18. I was unable to inelude the dresses I noticed at the laying of the foundation stone of the Maori College for Girls in last week’s issue. Here they are: — Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall and York looked sweet and handsome in a black cloth costume, outlined and adorned with stitched black satin. The skirt was slightly trained, the Eton bodice had a sailor collar of finely ruched chiffon, finished and outlined, with the satin applique. A black marabout necklet was fastened round the

throat. Her Royal Highness also wore a close fitting small black toque, which was composed of chiffon and paillette, the left side being lifted by a chenille tipped aigrette. Countess of Ranfurly, black cloth bolero and skirt, the vest was adorned with silver ornaments, black hat with plumes. Lady Mary Lygon and the Hon. Mrs Derek Keppel wore mourning costumes, no touch of colour relieving their dresses.
