The Countess of Ranfurly has issued invitations for an “At Home” at Government House, Wellington, on Wednesday, 19th June, at 3 o’clock, to meet their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York.

Air and Airs Tom Cowlishaw (Christchurch) passed through Wellington last week on their wedding tour. Aliss Wigley (“Opuha,” Timaru) is spending some weeks in Wellington with her relatives there, and is at present the guest of Afrs (Dr.) Adams.

Airs Ward, wife of the Hon. J. G. Ward, is to present a most beautiful bouquet holder to the Duchess of Cornwall in Wellington on the occasion of laying the foundation stone of the new railway offices there. The holder is made of greenstone and gold, and beautifully ornamented with pearls, and is being manufactured in Wellington by Afessrs Littlejohn and Sons, the well-known Wellington jewellers.

Aliss Laing-Aleason (Timaru) is to have the honour of playing the only piano solo at the Alayor’s reception in Christchurch to the Duke and Duchess of York. Afiss Aleason is a brilliant pianiste, having spent some years in Germany and England in order to study under the best masters there.

Mrs Robert Pharazyn (Wanganui) passed through Wellington lately, accompanied by her two granddaughters (the Misses Williams), on their Way to Napier, where Afrs Pharazyn intends residing in future.

Mrs W. Barton (Featherston) and her cousin. Afiss Hilda Moorhouse. (Wellington), recently spent a fortnight at Kandy (Ceylon) on their way to Europe, and saw all the wonderful festivities and illuminations there •
