NAPIER.
Dear Bee, April 26. The second hunt of the season took place last Saturday, when the Hawke’s Bay hounds met at “Gwavas.” The weather was fine, indeed, all that eould be wished for, and a splendid run was enjoyed. A great many people
were present to see the hounds throw off, some of whom were riding and some driving. Amongst those who followed were Misses Jackson, Groome, Herrick, Ithodes, Mason. Airs J. Khodes, Messrs Groome, Carlyon, Rhodes, Humphrey, Jackson, Abbot, Nelson. Todd, Mason, Herrick. Pilcher, Ireland, Kinross White, Hassall. Vesty and Skerman. The luncheon was given by Mr and Mrs Carlyon. There was a good attendance of spectators at the sports held this week at the Heretaunga School, Hastings, and the boys and their friends all showed keen interest in the various events. Mr J. A. Fraser, headmaster of the school, acted as starter, and Messrs Norris and Hunt made excellent judges. Afternoon tea was provided on both days by Mrs Frazer, and was much appreciated by those present.
MARJORIE.
