;) ■ Dear Bee, •’ December 21. Wr G. AV. Williamson’s pupils gave a successful concert at St. John’s Schoolroom on the 17th Inst. The musical programme contained several interesting numbers. Miss Roulston and Miss Knowles sang some pretty songs—“Fdr All Eternity.” by Mascagni, and Maefarren’s “By the Lime I Miss Bill ng worth, another promising pupil of Mr Williamson’s, displayed fine soprano voice, and good singing method, in "Thou Art So Near, ’’ .and Mr George Cotterill’s rendering, of n scena and aria -from Lucrezia ; Borgia’’ was greatly admired. Miss Mary McLean gave a pianoforte solo, “Grand Scotch Fantasia” (Jules de Sivrai), with great feeling and taste. Others who contributed to the success of the evening were the Misses Truda Goldsmith, Maud Sweetapple, Dulcie Kennedy, May Williams, Cora Fannin, Irene Clare, Marjory Amyes, Dolly Robjohna, A’era Humphries, and' Master Bryan Craig. Amongst the audience were Mesdames Turnbull, Hovell, Goldsmith. Ball, Rutherford, James McLean, etc. Wise May C. W. Loudon gave a matinee musicale on the 48th inat at the Athenaeum Hall. Some of those who have been prevent at the various breakings up of the different schools dnring the week are:- Mrs Tnrnbnll. wearing a handsome black and green dress, and black bonnet with pink roses; Mrs Goldsmith, in a fawn <tress trimmed •with silk to match; Mrs Hill, grey; Mrs F. W. Williams, pretty black and white costume; Miss Ixntdon, pretty grass lawn dress relieved with ;»ale blue, and a pale blue hat; Mrs Kight, handsome blaek silk: Miss Spencer, chocolate colour; Mrs Cornford, black, red roses in her bonnet; Mrs hocking, dark green; Mrs Coleman, black silk, white yoke, bonnet to match; Miss Coleman, white muslin, white chip hat: Mrs De Lisle, pretty grey costume, black hat with plumes; Mrs Bowen, soft blue silk; Mrs C.
