RELIGIOUS WORKER'S FORTITUDE.

In Mrs Jane Booty the Salvation Army possess a soldier of more than ordinary experience and fortitude. Airs Booty complacently gave an account of her experiences, during the last 15 years, to a reporter who called upon her at her residence, Clapham House. Mary Street, St. Peters, N.S.W. “In addition to being a Sergeant, I am Instructor to the Girls’ Class in my district.” said Airs Booty, “and attend open-air meetings in ‘all weathers. Some years ago 1 became debarred from attending these meetings, however, for the cold air always brought on acute neuralgia, for my nerves were unstrung owing to the death of my husband and business worries.

Sometimes the attacks would last for 48 hours; the pains seemed to pass up my spine and clutch my head behind the ears till my brain felt as if it were being squashed flat. My appetite failed, I could ndt sleep pronerly, and I became thin and pale. Through all these years the attacks came about once a week. Heart palpitation troubled me, making me quite faint, and I suffered from constipation and rheumatism in the knees, which were so weak that if I knelt down I required assistance to get up ag«in. I tried every remedy advertised without effect. Several medical men, after consultation, declared my case chronic, and said they could do me no good.
