Dear Bee, March 19. One of tile most successful garden parties of the season was given on Wednesday afternoon by Mr and Mrs F. Wilding, in honour of the Victorian cricketers, at Townhope. The pretty garden and lawns showed to advantage in the brilliant sunshine, with the gaily dressed visitors as they moved about on the different terraces. ’ A band at one end of the croquet lawn played selections, and fruit, afternoon tea, etc., were to be found in the various summer houses and other shady nooks. Mrs Wilding received on the lawn in a black ami white foulard, prettily trimmed with lace insertion, large black hat ami feathers; Miss Wilding, white muslin, pink belt and tie. sailor hat; Mr Wilding. Mr A. and Miss Cora Wilding were all most attentive looking after everyone. The Victorians have thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the kindness shown them during their visit, and have made many friends. The Christchurch team were also present. Among the guests were Mrs A. E. G. Rhodes, in dark green eoat and skirt, drooping black hat, white feather boa; Mrs J. T. Peacock, black coat and skirt, white front, large black hat with touch of scarlet; Mrs John Deans, black gown, the V shaped yoke of pale pink, pretty bonnet; Mrs (Dr.) Symes, light muslin and pretty toque; Mrs 11. Wood, pale grey voile with white spots made with double skirt, becoming hat; Mrs (Dr.) Jennings, white laee over pale green silk, black hat; Mrs Chas. Clark, black silk, black lace mantle and bonnet; Mesdames Gould, Mathias. Moorhouse, and Donalds, all black costumes; Mrs and the Misses Van Asch; Mrs F. M. Wallace, black moire velour skirt, heliotrope silk blouse with black Maltese lace and insertion, fancy strawhat; Mrs Hamer, soft grey gown; pretty hat; Mrs M. Ollivier, mourning costume; Mrs Wardrop, pink and white cotton gown; Mrs Ogle, white muslin, floral hat: Mrs Bourne, slate cloth braided with blaek and white, large hat: Mrs W. Wilson, pretty grey lustre coat and skirt braided in black and white, grey sailor hat. yellow tie; Mrs Barnes, black aml white check, black Eton jacket, pretty toque; Miss Nedwill, white muslin, black hat; Miss Hoskins, pink and white muslin, white hat: Miss Meares. white muslin; Miss G. Thompson, pink and white muslin; Miss Olive Palmer, blue and white striped muslin; Miss C. Lean, fawn and white eheck cloth, white silk vest, blue trimmed hat; Miss Stringer, white muslin,pretty white hat; Misses Reeves, Ollivier, Cowlishaw, Tabart (it). Foster (Australia), Mr and Mrs W.
