NEW PLYMOUTH.

Dear Bee, September 8. At the close of Mrs Boult's dancing classes for this year she held a PLAIN AND FANCY DRESS BALL in the Theatre Royal last Tuesday evening, which ‘ was thoroughly enjoyed by all those who were present? The hall was beautifully decorated with lilies and palms, and the stage, which looked a picture, was arranged for chess and card players. The supper tables attracted great attention, being daintily arranged with red and yellow paper, finished off with arches in the centre. There were also specimen glasses and baskets filled with daffodils and jonquils in all varieties, intermingled with appetising dishes of all descriptions. The floor was in splendid order, and the music supplied by Mr McKinnon-Bain’s orchestra left little to be desired. During the evening there was a prize given to the best waltzer, and was won by Miss A. Avery, it being a gold brooch. Mr E. Humphries acted as master of ceremonies.
