Dear Bee, September 8. A most successful dramatie entertainment, got up by Airs Lusk, took place at the Athenaeum Building's on -Monday evening. The pieces acted were “A Pair of Lunatics,’’ and another little farce. The principal characters were well sustained by Airs Lusk and Air Claude Sainsbury. After the theatricals there was a pleasant little dance. Some of those present were the Alisses Heath, Seale, Balfour (2), Nellie Cotterill, Shaw. Florence Watt, Wood, Tanner, Kennedy, Morecroft, and Macfarlane, and Alessrs Dinwiddie, J. G. Hughes, Dixon, Hovel], Afacfarlane, Von Dadelzen, Kennedy, Cornford, Stuart, Shaw. etc.
A concert in aid of the Athenaeum was also given in that building on the 6th ult. Air W. Dixon gave a violin solo from Hauser, and the Alisses Iloadley and Tanner a pianoforte duet, “Spain” (Aloszkowski); S. Adams’ "What am I, Love, Without Thee?” Air A. L. T. Jones, and as an eneore Air Jones gave “All Souls’ Day"; Aliss Tanner sang “A Song of Thanksgiving” and “You and I": Mr Alacassey gave a recitation entitled “Our Folks"; the Alisses Large sang a duet, “Tuscan Folk Song’’; and Air Kight a solo, “Sunshine and Rain.” Aliss Nation and Ah- J. G. Hughes afterwards delighted the company byacting a bright little comedy by E. IL Whitmore, entitled “Sixes ami Sevens.” Amongst the audience were Mesdames Hoadley. Coleman. Tanner, Smith. Kight, Lyndon. Lusk. the Alisses Heath. Cotterill, Watt, Alorecroft, Alacfarlane, etc. MARJORIE.
