“THE WHITE MAN'S BURDEN."

Mr Rudyard Kipling has recently been telling the people of America, in a series of magnificent verses, what “The White Man’s Burden” is. He shows the responsibility which has been thrown on their shoulders by leceut conquests, and in soul-stirring cadences bids them “Take up the White Man’s Burden.” Whilst these verses are addressed to the Americans in particular, there is another "White Man’s Burden” of far more universal character, namely, that particularly sensitive organ, the liver. This great organ is the regulator of our bodily health. If impaired, other organs, such as the kidneys, become affected, and ill-health results. And such was the experience of Mr J. Waller, of 82, York street, South Melbourne. His story of suffering for years from longstanding liver complaint, and subsequent cure by Bile Beans, was narrated to a representative of the “Sportsman” as follows: — “I am glad,” he began, “to give my testimony as to the very great value of Bile Beans. After five years' intense suffering from liver and kidney disease. Bile Beans have cured and made a new man of me. It is, in fact, over five years since I first began to feel bad. could not properly digest my food at times, and, on other occasions, would suffer from too much bile, and endure agony. Doctors said it was the liver. I tried various remedies, but without benefit, and gradually got worse, could scarcely look at food, lost flesh, and became a miserable wreck of humanity. Two years ago the complaint was aggravated by kidney troubles, with touches of rheumatism. Yoti can scarcely imagine how I suffered. I became gloomy and morose. The world seemed black to me. and I did not care whether I lived or died. Hearing so much about Bile Beans, and knowing people who had benefited by them, I decided to give them a trial, and did so. The effect was immediate and pleasantly surprising. Two boxes made me feel a very different man. I continued to take them, and am now, as you see. cured, all the credit being due to Bile Beans. I can now quite understand how that medicine works its cures, for it must act on the liver and bile. I hope others will benefit by my experience.”
