LAWN TENNIS.
MOUNTALBERT LAWN TENNIS CLUB. The tournaments in connection with the above club were brought to a close on Saturday afternoon last at the club’s lawn, •Ferndale,’ when the final of the handicap doubles between Rev. Chapman and Mr P. H. Harbutt (owe 30) v. Messrs S. Sellers and J. Alexander (scratch) were decided. This match was keenly contested, resulting in a win for Messrs Sellers and Alexander, the scores being: I—s. 3—6. o—2, and thus entitles them to the trophies presented by the president. Mr Geo. Fowlds. The other matches have been decided ns follows:—Mrs Woodroffe, winner of Mr Geo. Warren's trophy for ladles' handicap singles, and the Rev. J. G. Chapman, winner of Mr A. T. Garlick's trophy for gents' handicap singles. As the weather is now unsettled. It Is expected the club will close their season in a fortnight’s time.
