Dear Bee.— September 30. The Egmont Racing Chib held their SPRING MEETING last Wednesday and Thursday The weather beng fine, there was a good sprinkling of ladies. Great interest was taken in the ‘Lady's Bracelet ' which was won by Mrs D. Thurston’s Sir Athol,’ Mrs D. Riddiford’s Woodcock’ being second. Mr R. W. Nolan. president. presented the bracelet, which was a very handsome one, the stones being diamonds and sapphires. Mrs White, wife of the manager of the Bank of New Zealand, at Hawera, gave an ‘AT HOME’ last Saturday afternoon. The house was beautifully decorated with spring flowers. Tea and coffee, and delicious dainties of all kinds were served in the dining-room and hall. Music ami songs were rendered during the afternoon, the latter being sung by Mesdames Westenra.
