WELLINGTON-
Dear Bee, February 26. A well-attended meeting of the LADIES’ GOLF CLUB took place at Mrs Adams’ on Thursday afternoon last in order to elect the captain and officers for the ensuing year. Miss Duncan was unanimously elected captain and Mrs Todd secretary, Mrs Lees, Miss Hilda Williams, and Miss Morrah being elected members of the committee. A very hearty vote of thanks to the retiring captain, Mrs Adams, was unanimously passed for her untiring exertions on behalf •of the Club during the year. The annual meeting of the Wellington Golf Club was held in the Art -Gallery on Thursday evening, Mr Tripp presiding, when the folowing •officers were elected : — Patron: His Excellency the Governor; Captain: Mr Martin Chapman: Scretary: Mr G. Todd; Treasurer: Mr F. S. Hodson; Auditor: Mr O. Watkins; Committee: E. F. Hadfield, D. Pryde. W. S. Moorhouse, L. Tripp. The formal opening of the Club takes place shortly, and the finances of the Club are in a very satisfactory condition, as, after the debt on the new sheds has been wiped oft, there is a small bal--ance to the good remaining, with which it is proposed to enlarge the -Golf-house later on.
