Dear Bee, February 18. We were so excited on Tuesday over Miss Stephenson’s wedding that I could only send you a brief account of the eere mony, but I will supplement it next week. In the evening, Mrs Stephenson gave a LARGE DANCE at her residence, Lees street, which was much enjoyed by everybody. Mrs Stephenson received her guests in the drawing room, and wore a handsome black brocade gown; her daughter, Mrs Burns (Nelson), wore a pale blue silk, pink chiffon bodice ana sash, green velvet bolero: MissTui Stephenson, black silk with red earnations. The table decorations, which were the same as at the wedding breakfast, consisted of numerous high specimen vases filled with double white daisies and asparagus, fern. etc. Red and white satin ribbons (Stephenson-Haz-lett racing colours) hung from the gasalier and wound about among the vases on the table. Williams, heliotrope and white striped muslin; Miss Roberts, pale pink floral silk; Miss L. Roberts, bright blue chiffon bodice, black satin skirt; Miss Reynolds, pink silk, tucked pouch bodice; Miss V. Reynolds, handsome yellow brocade; Miss E. Ulrich, yellow corded silk; Miss L. Neill, white ehiffon bodice trimmed with black and white striped satin ribbon, black satin skirt; Miss Roberts, white silk; Miss L. MacKerras, pale blue silk trimmed with white chiffon; Miss Macassey, white brocade; Miss S. Webster, bright blue brocade trimmed with gold gimp; Miss Mac Lean (Melbourne), handsome butter cup yellow satin; Miss Gibson, black satin, black chiffon bodice; MissCowlishaw (Christchurch), white silk; Miss Blakeney (Brisbane), black satin, sleeveless bodice of crushed strawberry silk covered with black chiffon; Miss Edmond White, merveilleux; Miss Mitchell, bright blue silk; Miss Hislop (Wellington), black satin, black bow sleeves edged with white chiffon; Miss Patrick, white silk trimmed with white lace; Miss Batchelor, heliotrope brocade; Miss E. Batchelor, white brocade; Miss F. Dennison, white merveilleux, pouch tucked bodice; Miss Bathgate, white surah silk daintily trimmed with white lace; Miss Shand, black silk, sleeveless accordion-pleated chiffon bodice; Miss R. Neill, white silk bodice, trimmed with pearl passementerie; Miss Driver, black satin, trimmed with black lace; Miss N. Driver, white satin; Miss MacKellar, white merveilleux; Miss Simpson (debutante), stylish white merveilleux, the bodice smartly trimmed with white lace; Miss Robinson, pale pink silk; Miss Kempthorne, handsome blue satin, with trimmings of pearl passementerie. Many very stylish dresses were worn, but the crush was so great that it was impossible to see everybody. Amongst the gentlemen were Messrs Stephenson, J. Stephenson, Hazlett, Edmonds, Carr, Roberts, J. Roberts, Gibson, Law, Hixon, Webster, MacDonald, Brent (Invercargill), Matherson, Laidlaw (Ophir), Mac Lean, Green (England), Morris, A. Morris, Crawford, Moore, Oldham, Hunter, Weston (Napier), Jones, Shand, Reid. On Thursday afternoon Mrs Gibson (Anderson’s Bay) gave a large LUNCHEON PARTY in honour of Miss Bessie Driver. The table was most exquisitely decorated with sweet peas and pink begonias. Mrs Gibson, black silk; Miss Gibson, blue striped floral silk blouse, fawn cloth skirt; Miss P. Gibson, fawn costume; Miss N. Gibson, pale green muslin; Miss Driver, dark blue floral silk blouse, black skirt; all wore smart hat; Miss Williams, dark purple astrachan cloth costume, hat en suite; Miss N. Williams, dark grey cloth costume, white chiffon waistcoat, heliotrope velvet neckband; Miss Webster, white drill costume, large yellow Leghorn hat, trimmed with pink roses; Miss Wright, grey tailor-made jacket and skirt, heliotrope vest, sailor hat, trimmed with ruches of heliotrope ribbon; Miss Bons (Sydney), fawn Eton jacket and skirt, heliot rope vest, sailor hat, with ruches of black and white ribbon; Miss Roberts, green and white foulard silk, blaek hat; Miss Mills, dark blue doth costume, with bolero, pretty hat; Miss MeLean (Sydney), who is at present the guest of Mrs Gibson, steel grey lustre costume, white chiffon waistcoat.
