One of the most progressive and enthusiastic glassmakers in France is building himself a house of glass, which he believes will be brighter and more beautiful than any other dwelling in the country. His provisions against stone throwers are not known, except that the outer walls will be thick, and where exposed to the gaze of outsiders are to be of deep-coloured glass. Floors, walls, roof, drapings, and much of the furniture will be of the same material, while the pipes will also be of glass.
