NEW PLYMOUTH.

Dear Bee, July 17. a most enjoyable dance was held in the Alexandra Hall on July 15th. Although the weather was very stormy, a great number assembled. The supper-table looked very pretty with ivy leaves and green silk intermingling with the dainty dishes. In the centre was a handsome stand of scarlet and green, and palms at either end. The music, which was supplied by Mr Garry and his son Jack, was, as usual, perfect. Among those there I noticed Mrs W. Bayly, in black satin ; Miss Thomson, white silk ; Miss Bertha Thomson, white and heliotrope ; Miss Jessie Lawson, pink ; Mrs Westmacott, black lace over peach-coloured silk ; Miss B. Bayly, white and scarlet; Miss Kirby, cream and green; Miss B. Kirkby, lavender; Miss Ellis, black, scarlet sleeves; Mrs Carthew, brown; Miss Cottier, yellow and blue satin ; Miss Jessie Cottier, pink heliotrope flowers; Miss Isabel Ellis, green ; Miss Cunningham looked pretty, as usual, in green, pink silk sleeves; Mrs Tribe, black satin ; Miss Ivy Cottier, blue; Miss Webster, pink and brown; Miss Carthew, blue and white; Miss Knight, green ; Miss Tribe, pink ; Mrs R. Cock, black satin ; Miss Young, pink and blue ; Miss A. Jackson, black and gold; Miss L. Jackson, cream ; Misses O’Brien, white and blue silk ; Miss J.
