FEATHERSTON.

Dear Bbe, June 26. On Wednesday evening Mr and Mrs assisted by Mesdames Monckton and Mac Shane gave a FANCY DRESS BALL to the children of this town. It was given in commemoration of Her Majesty’s Record Reign, and will certainly be remembered by the young people. During the evening one little girl danced a skirt dance very cleverly. The evening’s amusement closed with a march round the room and the N ational Anthem. It is im possible to mention all the costumes at so large a gathering, so I will give a few of the best. Several young ladies who were helping to entertain the little ones went as ‘ Bashful Fifteen,’ and looked very pretty. Miss Connie MacShane went as Queen of Hearts, but owing to an accident the day before was unable to dance. However, as she sat on the stage she was well attended to by her little friends.
