Dear Bee, May 17. The great event of the season, the ANNUAL HOSPITAL BALL, was held in the Palace Hall last Friday, and was a great success. Visitors came f om all parts of the valley. As usual, the hall was beautifully decorated with flags and
evergreens, and the music was very good. Among those present I noticed Mrs Bey, in black silk ; Mrs Tringham, black silk; Mrs Izard, a lovely yellow brocade with chiffon and violets ; Mrs Andrew, black silk with red poppies; Mrs Kebbell, white brocade; Mrs Wardell, white silk with pearl trimming ; Mrs Ward, old gold silk with black trimmings; Mrs Pnillips, black silk ; Mrs Palmer, cream silk ; Mrs Mac Shane, black silk ; Mrs N. Grace, black silk ; Miss Cameron, pink gauze over silk, trimmed with passementerie; Miss E. Monckton, a pretty green figured silk; Miss Barton, white with green velvet and cream lace trimmings ; Miss Maunsel), black velvet with pink roses and jet ; Miss C. Mathews, white satin prettily trimmed with ribbon and chiffon; Miss M. Mathews, cream satin with pearl trimming ; Miss McKay, white with pink flowers ; Miss W. Monckton, a pretty cream silk : Miss McDougall, cream crepon with a profusion of chiffon ; Miss MacShane, black velvet with cream trimmings ; Miss McKerrow, black velvet trimmed with pink silk and chiffon ; Miss Tringham, a pretty green velvet relieved with a little cream lace; Miss Rutherford, heliotrope; Miss Stevens, cream crepon with satin and chiffon trimmings; Miss Vennell, black velvet trimmed with yellow silk ; Mi's Bunny, cream satin with pale blue sash ; Miss Forbes, a very pretty green satin with pearl trimming; Miss Fuller, cream trimn ed with pink chiffon; Miss Miller, cream silk profusely trimmed with green ribbons and flowers; Dr. Bey, Dr. Palmer, Messrs Wood, Izard.
